Accepted nursing students will complete requirements before beginning the program including: immunizations, AHA-BLS certification, drug screening, and background checks. Students will also be required to provide proof of health insurance coverage. Additional details will be shared in late spring after admittance to the program for the following fall.
The Department of Nursing and Public Health updates immunization requirements as indicated by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and our affiliating agencies. The student will be informed of any changes during their program.
The student must be in compliance with all health requirements prior to the start of the program and throughout the entirety of their academic experience. The student must have adequate physical and mental health to participate in clinical. A statement from the student's health care provider is required when the student returns from a medical absence, medical leave, or whenever health accommodations are required, in order to assure that the student can participate in clinical without limitations.
Directions:Two(2) letters of recommendation are required as part of the application for admission to a nursing program at Elmhurst University. Please request your recommendations from recent professors. No more than one recommendation may come from a science professor.
