Music Production: Composition/Arrangement Audition Registration

Instructions

Only intended Music majors must audition with their major instrument/voice before a panel of music department faculty for acceptance into the Department of Music. We encourage all students to apply before auditioning, as well as review the audition process and requirements. Please note: There are different audition requirements for students interested in pursuing a major other than Music Production.

Non Music Majors: Performance opportunities are open to all students, regardless of major. Ensemble auditions are held during the first week of the fall semester. Learn more here.

Submit this form with YouTube Music links to your two original compositions/arrangements at least 2 weeks prior to your preferred audition date.

Composition/Arrangement Guidelines

Please meet the following criteria:

Each piece should be between 2-3 minutes in length.
The pieces should be of contrasting styles.
Compositions must be produced using a combination of MIDI and live audio tracks.
Upload your pieces to YouTube Music and paste the links in the designated space at the bottom of this form. Please upload your tracks in the highest quality setting possible to ensure the best listening experience for our faculty. Instructions on how to upload files to YouTube Music can be found here.

On the day of your audition:

You must bring with you the full DAW production and stereo Mp3 renderings of each production on a portable drive (flash). In order to avoid compatibility issues, it is strongly suggested that you bring your production on your own laptop. If this is not possible, the DAW production should be submitted in advance to ensure playability. Please email ahlbergt@elmhurst.edu for further instructions.
