Secondary Science Education (5-8) (9-12) (BA)

Receipt of this form in no way indicates acceptance in the Teacher Education Program. Students may not enroll in any education courses (SEC) without first being admitted to the Education Program. Application to the Education Program requires a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 from all institutions of higher learning Please use the Application for Admission to a Teacher Education Program on the University website for additional application information.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics students must maintain a major/minor GPA of 2.50 or higher and an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. All courses taken to meet licensure requirements must be completed for a grade of C- (1.70) or higher. All educator preparation programs are subject to revisions required by changes from the Illinois State Board of Education.

ALL students must complete at least half of their Education courses, excluding SEC 300, 450 and student teaching (SEC 455), at Elmhurst University and must complete two full terms [Fall/Spring] at Elmhurst University prior to student teaching.

Elmhurst University is in the process of converting from course credits to semester hours. Please note this will not change the relative value of each class, only the way it is transcripted. 1.0 course credit = 4 semester hours
