American Dream Fellowship Application 2023

All Fall 2023, first-year admitted students who are first-generation college students are invited to participate in our In-Person American Dream Fellowship Competition. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Students who plan to apply for the American Dream Fellowship are not eligible to also apply for the Niebuhr Service to Society scholarship.

By March 3, 2023, upload an "unlisted" video you created of no more than three minutes in length to YouTube.com on the topic:

Disclaimer: By submitting a video to the Elmhurst University American DREAM contest, you agree to allow Elmhurst University to use your videos for future marketing purposes and shared on social media. Determination of a video’s suitability to be featured is up to the discretion of the Elmhurst University Office of Marketing and Communications. Videos that include inappropriate content, language or graphics will be disqualified.

Round 2

On April 1, 2023 from 8:30 AM-11:00 AM students will be invited to the second round of the competition held on campus. The competition will consist of a group project for students, an opportunity to hear from a first-generation featured speaker, and a chance to meet other participants. Round 2 concludes with an awards ceremony hosted by Elmhurst University President Troy D. VanAken, a first-generation college student himself.

Note: All Round 1 participants will automatically be invited for Round 2, on-campus.
