    TEACHING CONCENTRATION – must take all courses – required for licensure and Secondary Mathematics Education: MTH 326 [.50 course], MTH 331, MTH 346, MTH 361, MTH 381 and MTH 440

    APPLIED MATHEMATICS CONCENTRATION: MTH 311, MTH 341, MTH 342, MTH 434 and one elective from the remaining courses in the Mathematics curriculum*.

    GRADUATE SCHOOL CONCENTRATION: MTH 361, MTH 381, MTH 434, MTH 444 and one elective from the remaining courses in the Mathematics curriculum*.

    BUSINESS/FINANCIAL CONCENTRATION: MTH 311, MTH 346, MTH 348, MTH 421, plus one upper division course in the Mathematics curriculum*. We recommend MTH 468.

    DATA SCIENCE CONCENTRATION: MTH 302, MTH 346, MTH 421, MTH/CS 146, CS 220, IS 380, IS 423, plus two upper division courses in the Mathematics curriculum*. We recommend MTH 311 and MTH 341.

    *Note: The Mathematics curriculum excludes MTH 325, MTH 326 (only offered for teaching concentration) MTH 327 and MTH 345

    For Mathematics Majors seeking Licensure, the courses listed below are also required.

    Receipt of this form in no way indicates acceptance in the Education Program. Students may not enroll in any education courses (SEC) without first being admitted to the Education Program. Application to the Education Program requires a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 from all institutions of higher learning. Students must also demonstrate basic academic proficiency in order to be admitted to the Department of Education. See the Department of Education for the ways currently available to do this.     Mathematics majors must maintain a major GPA of 2.50 or higher. All courses taken to meet licensure requirements must be completed for a grade of C-(1.70) or higher. All educator preparation programs are subject to revisions required by changes from the Illinois State Board of Education.

    ALL students must complete at least half of their Education courses, excluding SEC 300, 450 and student teaching (SEC 455), at Elmhurst University and must complete three full terms [Fall/Spring] at Elmhurst University prior to student teaching.
