Receipt of this form in no way indicates acceptance in the Education Program. Students may not enroll in any education courses (SEC) without first being admitted to the Education Program.

Application to the Education Program requires a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 from all institutions of higher learning. Please see the Application for Admission to a Teacher Education Program on the University website for additional application information.

Theatre Arts majors must maintain a minimum major GPA of 2.75 or higher and an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. All courses taken to meet licensure requirements must be completed for a grade of C- (1.70) or higher. All educator preparation programs are subject to revisions required by changes from the Illinois State Board of Education.

Theatre Arts majors are strongly encouraged to have at least 18 semester hours in another field, such as English, plus the ISBE area content test so student teaching placements and endorsements can be facilitated. Full-time teaching positions in only Theatre Arts are uncommon and student teachers without an additional endorsement area may have difficulty securing a student teaching placement. See the Director of Secondary Education for more information.

ALL students must complete at least half of their education courses, excluding SEC 100, 300, 450 and student teaching (SEC 455) at Elmhurst University and must complete three full terms [Fall/Spring] at Elmhurst University prior to student teaching.
